Making art and teaching, whether through her own life long practice, her visual journal work, or through her active involvement in arts education, have been central to Deb’s life. She received her BFA from MassArt in 1973. During this time she also was a founding member of the The Graphic Workshop in Boston. Once graduated she moved to the Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado where she continued designing and screen printing posters, became the K-8 art teacher at the Aspen Community School in Woody Creek and continued making her art in mixed media and installation.

In 1995 she founded and directed the Wyly Community Art Center in Woody Creek and moved the organization to Basalt, Colorado in 2004. Deb recently left the world of community arts and now works full-time in her studio on Basalt Mountain making paintings, collages, installations and hand-made books. Her work has been exhibited locally and nationally. She currently lives in Basalt, Colorado.
